'I like it on the Couch' – Facebook

Breast-cancer-ribbon-imageWhen you see something like this as your female friends’ Facebook status message, you have to be superhuman if you don’t think dirty. She is talking about her handbag, all you morons. To make it sexually suggestive is part of this year’s strategy for October Breast Cancer Awareness month.

What you need to do is to just make this your status message “I like it on the…” it could be couch dinner table, kitchen counter. Send personal messages to all your female friends.

the American organisers wrote.

Breast Cancer is often curable if detected early. And social media users can become responsible players every year this month by simply reminding their friends about the perils of ignoring minor health issues. Last year females were talking about the colour of their bra. And bloggers and other commentators found it quite amusing and started hazarding guesses.

Every year these campaigns aim to remind women of the need to go for routine check up. Every time people find a way to get eyeballs. Creative people have already started planning for next year and what a way to spread awareness.

Facebook with its 500 plus million users is the perfect platform to spread the word. You can use all the social and not so social media to spread awareness. Team Teekhaweb is contributing to the campaign – are you?

You must be wondering who is ‘ZUCK’ calling me a ‘dumb fuck’ (i presume you are a Facebook user).

So Ladies and Gentleman! he is none other than the youngest billionaire and the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. He exchanged these instant messages with his friend before the Facebook came into existence.

This geeky lad has become the poster boy of social media revolution. Now he controls personal details of 500 million people globally. I am sure you must be feeling disgusted because you are sharing info on a site without knowing the owner.

If this has send enough alarm bells ringing in your head, start taking precautions. It’s high time that we become less narcissistic and start concealing rather revealing every detail online.

Can you trust Facebook? Teekhaweb suggests caution.

Delhi Traffic Police promoting crime on Facebook

Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) has taken a giant lead in using social media and promoting breach of law through it. Either we are too naive or Motor Vehicle Act is too complex for us to understand.

Offence: Using Mobile Phone while Driving
Section: 184 Motor Vehicle Act
Fine: Rs. 1000

Just look at the Delhi police’s statements:

Both these images were taken by people commuting in the vehicles coming from behind. And in most probabilities, it was the driver who shot. These Facebook cops are using mobile phone cameras while driving. If the section 184 is used in spirit all the click happy drivers on Facebook should be paying Rs 1000 /-.

We know a lot of legal luminaries and sceptics will say the images are not taken by drivers but someone else in the car. But they should know smart cropping saves many of them and still we can safely bank on the dumbness of people in Delhi. Some foolhardy drivers are posting images showing their dashboards from the wrong side (of the law) and steering wheel. Here is an example for you:

Look at this smart chap proving team TOS’s point on the FB.

Team TOS appeals to the DTP to do some pragmatic thinking and buy some cameras instead of depending on citizens who are risking their life and causing chaos to get a ‘thanks’ from you.

It’s a dangerous game – please stop it – and has all the potential to embarrass you.
